John Fredy Osorio Cardona is a Civil Engineer from the National University of Colombia. He holds a Master in Environment and Development from the Faculty of Urban Planning of the same University, and a Master in Humanities and Theology from the Catholic University of Manizales. He has been a researcher at the Faculty of Urban Planning of the National University. For 3 years he has been in charge of the peace affairs of the city of Manizales, directing the Peace Council, coordinating the strategies of attention to the ex-combatant population in the post-conflict, and developing administrative models that help the fulfilment of the SDGs. He was awarded the "Research Merit Medal" due to his proposals on new administrative schemes based on community participation and the protection of human rights.
He was part of the delegation of the Mayor's Office of Manizales (Colombia) that received the UNPSA Award or the United Nations Public of Service Awards in Morocco in 2018 for the "Cambia Tu Mente…Construye Paz" program. He helped formulate the SIS-Paz program that uses a software to manage coexistence actions in Manizales, which received the National Senior Management Award, given by the Government of Colombia in 2018.
