Ms. Mannini Makhele-Makoa is Director of Integrated Development Planning at Gauteng Planning Division in Premier’s Office. She is a seasoned Urban and Regional Planner with over 16 years of experience in the fields of Planning, Geography & Development Studies.
Mannini previously worked as a Town Planner for ARUP and Urban Dynamics. She was appointed as a Director in the Office of the Premier where she champions spatial coordination and integration across the Gauteng City Region during the last eighteen months. Furthermore, Mannini provides technical advisory expertise on various projects and research impacting the GCR landscape on a broad range of issues, including urban/local governance and regional socio-economic planning. She has also made significant contributions to the conceptualization and implementation of the Gauteng Spatial Development Framework, which seeks to harmonise, coordinate, integrate and align plans, policies and development strategies across spheres of government.
Mannini is a proud mother of two beautiful children, a 14 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. Her caring nature as a mother and woman, evidently translates into her work life. She takes a motherly approach to leadership, an approach which always produce the best in the people she works with.
She holds a BA degree in Human Geography & Development Studies from National University of Lesotho and a Master of Arts in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria.
