Wim Dries (Genk, Flanders - Belgium, 24 March 1972) is a Belgian politician for the Christian Democratic and Flemish (CD&V) political party. In 1995, he was elected as a municipal councilor in Genk, and became the tenth Mayor of Genk in December 2009. He was last re-elected in October 2018.
He is also the Chairman of the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities (VVSG). In this function, he has three main priorities :
- Turn our cities and municipalities into smart cities;
- Translate the globally agreed sustainable development goals into concrete actions tailored to cities and municipalities;
- Pay attention to the problem of pensions and municipal finances.
