Mayor of Kazan
Ilsur Metshin was born in Nizhnekamsk, Russia, in 1969. Between 1993 and 2005, he served in the administration of the Soviet district in Kazan, the Vakhitovkiy district the Nizhnekamsk region and the Nizhnekamsk city (Tatarstan). He is the Mayor of Kazan since November 2005. Since 2016 he is deputy chairman of the Committee on Relevant Issues of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
