The detailed program of the World Summit held in Durban from November 11-15 is now available.
The co-creation of spaces and knowledge by the different actors has been a priority when preparing the program, as well as strengthening the sessions by giving them more time and depth.
A UCLG Congress that advances our movement.
The World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders is based on the centenary international municipal movement; it will include interactive and innovative activities focused on four axes that will guide the participants throughout the World Summit, and also includes the commitment to ensure a better future for all through action at local, national and international levels, the commitment of govern and generate cooperation, and the commitment that cities and regions occupy their rightful place at the head of the new international agenda for sustainable and inclusive development.
From UCLG, we are convinced that the Summit will be a useful event not only for our members, but also a key experience for all attendees, that will leave a mark on the city of Durban and that will strengthen the impact of the municipal movement for the whole world.
Create your own experience.
Over the five days of the Summit, more than eighty sessions will be held in their different formats, as well as five statutory meetings, eight caucuses or special meetings of the regional sections, ten parallel meetings and ten special meetings, in addition to the sessions plenaries (on local democracy, localization of sustainable development and intergenerational dialogues) and sessions dedicated to the Learning Forum.
In order to highlight the experience of our World Summit, users will be able to see the detailed program, a summary of the program, and may, in addition, filter by the different Axes (Local4Action, Assembly, Town Hall, Statutory) or by thematic policies, which link with the issues addressed by our Political Councils.
In addition to this, users will be able to filter by different thematic axes that are of interest to them, such as gender equality, human rights, climate emergency or youth, to form a Congress experience that is especially unique for each attendee.
All this in just five days?
To accommodate so much content, the different sessions will be held in parallel, with up to six taking place simultaneously, in the different rooms of the ICC (International Convention Centre), located in the heart of Durban. The program will occupy the full days from 9.00 AM to 18:30 PM, with the exception of the first day- November 11- in which participants will be given a time frame to make their corresponding registrations (if not already done on Sunday).
