Jane Katz

Jane Katz is a Director of International Affairs & Programs Government Relations and Advocacy of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI)'s Washington D.C., where she works on policy and advocacy issues relating to international development, housing, disaster resilience, urban development, land and related issues in the over 70 countries where Habitat works. She currently manages the Global Housing Indicators Project, a tool that helps to assess and inform debate and provides a basis for developing strategies and shaping policies for a well-functioning housing system. Prior to coming to Habitat in 2001, she spent fourteen years at Fannie Mae in various management positions, and spent 15 years in the U.S. public sector working in mortgage finance, regulatory oversight, and housing. She received a M.A. degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and a B.A. degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Cincinnati. She is on the board of Global Urban Development (GUD); appointed by UN Habitat as a delegate to the World Urban Campaign; cochairs the Society for International Development urban dev. working group; cochairs the InterAction DRR working group; and part of the management group for the International Housing Coalition (IHC).
