Joyce Nyambura is the Deputy Secretary General of the Association of County Governments of Kenya (ACGOK), where she has worked for nearly 20 years. Among her other duties, Joyce co-ordinates the implementation of projects that are based on the global development processes that are currently taking place, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the Africities 8 Summit that was held in November 2018 in Marrakech, Morocco, Joyce was one of the Strategic Support Group members, and she was attached to activities on women in Local Government.
Ever eager to translate information into practical action, Joyce has initiated a programme in Nairobi on the economic empowerment of female domestic workers, a group of human beings that according to her, has been left behind in spite of the global focus on women and girls.
