He worked for the national Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) as a Senior Manager since 1 July 2007 and is currently Chief Director: Research and Public Administration Discourse focusing on the policy for the Transformation and Modernisation of the Public Administration. Prior to the current position, he was Chief Director: Change Management at the DPSA where he drafted two frameworks on managing change in the public service and complaints/ compliments management in the public service. Prior to joining the DPSA he worked as a Senior Manager in local government in various transformational projects where he developed expertise in the areas of local government transformation, intergovernmental relations and co-operative governance, change management, traditional leadership, communication, and stakeholder relations. He continues to lecture part-time on various programmes at the School of Public Management and Administration (SPMA) at the University of Pretoria. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and SPMA at the University of Pretoria. He is also convener and facilitator of the AAPAM/ DPSA/ SPMA annual seminar on Human Resources Strategies to achieve the Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
