Gaokgakala Sobatha is a Principal Urban Planner with the Ministry of Local Government & Rural Development, based at Lobatse Town Council, and also responsible for coordinating Gender Mainstreaming at District and Urban Councils Level. Ms Sobatha has been very instrumental in providing policy advise on how issues of Gender & Development should be mainstreamed in Local Government policies & Programmes. As a Coordinator for Gender Mainstreaming, she has represented Councils at the SADC Protocol on Gender@ Work Summit, and the Commonwealth Local Government Forum, 2015, where she showcased the best practices of Gender Mainstreaming at Local Government Level.
